Registration for Training at Thiruvananthapuram EPFO
Sub: Introduction of Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR) in EPFO - Regarding
EPFO has simplified the Return and Challan preparation and submission. From April- 2012, Instead of filing various monthly and annual Returns like Form-5,Form10, Form-12A, Form-3A and Form-6A, establishments/ employers have to use the online facility to upload a single Return viz. Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR) at the site http://esewa.epfoservices.in/ . This facility can also be accessed using the EPFO head office website www.epfindia.gov.in. Form-2 return remains unchanged.
In order to upload the ECR, all the Establishments/Employers have to Register at the above site to obtain the User-Id and Password. During each month ECR should be uploaded and then challan should be printed and due amount should be remitted using this challan at State Bank of India Branch before the due date which remains unchanged. The first ECR return, which should be for the Wage Month March-2012 (Return month April, 2012) , is to be uploaded at the above site preferably before 15.04.2012 so as to generate the challan and remit the amount before due date.
Those who have ‘Vyapar’ or ‘Vistar’ facility at SBI online site, can remit the challan amount online after uploading the ECR as above.
The software tool viz. ‘E-Return Tool’ for which Training was imparted during March- 2012, has been upgraded to version 4.0 which is now available for download at www.epfindia.gov.in website. This new version can be used to generate the ECR file which can be uploaded to E-SEWA.
The change is effective from the year 2012-13. The annual returns viz. Form-3A, Form-6A along with softcopy for the year 2011-12 shall be prepared and submitted to EPFO office on or before 30.04.2012, as done during 2010-11.
